Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition in which the median nerve becomes compressed as it passes through the carpal tunnel in the wrist. This syndrome is caused by any combination of overexertion on the wrist joint, impact or injury to the wrist, obesity, prolonged stress from poor posture, and hypothyroidism. If you have carpal tunnel syndrome and don't seek treatment, your symptoms may linger or worsen.

Treatment Options

Treatment options for carpal tunnel syndrome include physiotherapeutic exercise, massage therapy, prescriptions, medications, and medical procedures. If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, please see one of our physicians so we can assess the extensiveness of your carpal tunnel syndrome. If the case is mild, we may recommend that you rest and wear a splint at night. It is best to treat carpal tunnel syndrome as early as possible.
