Neuropathic Pain

Neuropathic pain, known as nerve pain, is a chronic condition usually caused by injury, disease,  infection, damaged nerves, or a problem with the nervous system. It is one of the most intense types of chronic pain and is often described as shooting, burning, or stinging pain. While neuropathic pain can be debilitating, there are medications to treat it, and they work by changing the way the brain interprets pain.

Symptoms
  • Intense pain
  • Tingling
  • Numbness
  • Spontaneous pain
  • Shooting or burning pain
  • Difficulty sleeping
Treatment Options

Neuropathic pain can be a symptom or a complication of several diseases and conditions. These include multiple sclerosis, multiple myeloma, and cancer. Treatments include medications, prescriptions, massage therapy, and physiotherapeutic treatment to help with the pain and reduce inflammation.
