Dr. James Gilas specializes in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He managed a private practice in New York City for more than ten years, helping thousands recover from personal and sports injuries. Dr. Gilas earned his medical degree from the University of Ioannina in Greece, then moved to the U.S. to complete his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency at New York Medical College.
Dr. Gilas wants to help people leave the pain of their injuries behind. His focus is on treating patients with acute and chronic injuries resulting from auto accidents, a slip-and-fall at work, sports participation, or chronic progressive degenerative conditions. Dr. Gilas has substantial experience in both traditional and regenerative pain medicine. He is an avid believer in the body’s own regenerative potential and finding ways to enhance this great innate mechanism. His patients’ health and well-being always come first. He considers communication a key for successful results and encourages patients to play an active role in their treatment.
Dr. Gilas is an avid soccer player, and he enjoys coaching and creating a fun and learning soccer environment for elementary students.
